Bio~ Mark Nims has been published extensively in Tahoe Tribune, Reno Gazette and Sparks Tribune since 1972. He was also published in several college newspapers including the UNR Sagebrush and the Sacramento Express. He attended University of Nevada-Reno where he won the Leonard Scholarship for Photojournalism in 1989. He was awarded UNR Photographer of the Year in 1989 and 1990. He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Photojournalism in 1990. Nims also won several 1^st place awards for photography and writing in the Nevada State Press Association and the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Press Association.

Mark began his photo career in 1970 at age 12. He took a photography class in eighth grade at South Lake Tahoe and found out he had been given a gift. In high school he served 4 years as a photographer on the student newspaper, culminating with editor-in-chief in his senior year. At the age of 14 his photographs were being published nearly every week in the Tahoe Daily Tribune. Then he got hired as a photographer and lab technician at the Tahoe Tribune at the age 15! He won an award for journalistic excellence from the Tahoe Daily Tribune in 1975.

He also participated in Television production in high school and college. After graduating UNR, Mark worked for 5 years at KRNV News 4 Reno as a cameraman and master control operator and 3 years for KRXI FOX 11 and KAME 21.

He has also worked for 4 camera stores since the age of 16.

Mark’s first love has always been photography. He has photographed hundreds of weddings since 1976. It was in 1994 he founded Nims Photography and in 2000 he changed to name to Precious Images Photography. Nims has extensive experience in weddings, portraits, and commercial photography. Mark’s specialty is weddings, giving his customers his uncompromising attention to detail and passion for great photography. He is glad to help out any couples starting their lives together as husband and wife.

Mark Nims is easy to work with and has more than 35 years of intense professional experience in photography, television and media graphics. He is an expert in digital photographic editing and is continuing his education in web graphics and design. Nims is a member of Wedding and Portrait Photographers International and the Association for Wedding Professionals International.
